Apple will announce the release of the iPhone 5 on September 12. There will be a new software on the iPhone called iOS 6. This new iPhone appears to be slimmer compared to the previous iPhones. Like all Apple products the iPhone 5 is expected to be a hit. The event will start at 10a.m on the 12th. There may be new ear buds to go with apples new line of products. This will be a plus for buyers. The only way to find out is to watch the event on September 12.

The iPhone 5 is like the cotton gin we learned about last year. The cotton gin made cotton picking extremely easier for a lot of people. It was much easier for the slaves and workers. Just like the new iPhone, it will make life much easier. The iPhone helps with literally everything and anything, you could imagine.

  6. The i pad mini is being released in October. it will have a 7 in screen and will be $250-300 which is half the price of a normal i pad. It is very easy to transport and will make surfing the web faster and easier from any ware.

This is like the Gatling gun which was invented by Richard J. Gatling which made killing easier and faster. But as other i pad tablets people are worried about heat issues which the Gatling gun also had, so it was not used much in battle.

  9. A group of researchers say that they have came up with a new technology that will greatly impact the way information is carried in the army. Their idea is a Cyborg Cockroach. These Cyborg Cockroaches will be steered into areas that have been wrecked to collect data and look for people who may still be alive. To collect the data a lightweight chip with a wireless receiver and transmitter will be placed on the cockroach.

This new invention in a way relates to the invention of the first Steam Engine. The Steam Engine was created in 1814. It was made to make traveling long distances easier and carrying cargo across land easier. This is kind of like the Cyborg Cockroach. It is said to be the turning point for technology in the army. It will make carrying data easier.

    1. Lots of people are pre-odering the iphone 5. The iphone 5 is going to be slimmer than the others and have a faster internet. It's going to have a larger screen. The battery is also going to last longer. Apple also made new earbuds that will stay in your ear and not fall out.

The iphone 5 is similar to the train because you could get to your destination faster. Before there was a train people had to walk long distances to get to their destination. Many people died along the way. When the train was invented they could go from 6 months of traveling to 6 weeks in the train. Lots of people were building towns when the train was invented.

  12. New advancements in the world’s technology have pushed the modern world into a new age. Many different forms of technology has been made to help the lives of human beings a lot more simple then we would have without it. In Indiana, new technology helps doctors and nurses make modern care more easily and with better outcomes.
From robotic arms the hospitals in northeast Indiana brings their hospitals better care. Every day they put money in to get more brand new advances in technology so more care can be done. One Porter Hospital now features 78% new equipment. All this to help the lives of those who are hurt in everyday lives. All these advancements are for the care of others. This all is like an advancement that made lives easier.
This reminds me of the Cotton Gin. This device helped cotton harvesters get the cotton clean because most cotton had seeds and they had to be removed by hand this made it so much more easy and helped them do the work ten times faster.
All these advances helped the people back then and are still helping us today. Although we only just broke into new advances there are sure to be much more in the future.

  14. http://inventorspot.com/articles/pedalpowered_dc_generator_charges_any_usb_device
I read an article about an invention from China called the “Pedal-Powered DC Generator”. It’s a small generator that you can attach to the wheel of your bike. As you ride it generates power that can be used to charge any mobile device, such as a cell phone or an mp3 player, using a usb adapter. It takes about 2-3 hours of riding to generate enough power to fully charge most smart phones. It does not start charging the phone until the rider reaches about 5 km/h. The device is weather proof so it can be kept on the bike at all times and is designed so that there is no added difficulty in riding the bike itself.
This is another example of man coming up with new and better ways to do things. An example in history of someone inventing a better way of doing something could be Eil Whitney. His invention of the cotton gin revolutionized the cotton industry.

  15. http://discovermagazine.com/2012/jun/07-a-disease-diagnostic-for-the-developing-world

Rick Haselton visited New Delhi’s largest public hospital last year and realized that people were comeing from really far away and have to stay at the hospital for a few day just to get their blood tested for disease. He joined the Haselton and colleagues at Vanderbilt University to build a hand held remote clinic to test by yourself. The solution was a machine called the extractionator, a tool that keeps body fluids sterile while tiny magnets extract disease biomarkers, like proteins or bits of DNA, that can be the telltale sign of an infection. To diagnose malaria, for instance, a blood sample is fed into a closed plastic tube filled with millions of tiny magnetic beads coated with nickel. Nickel chemically binds to a protein produced by the malaria parasite, called histidine-rich protein 2. Once the protein attaches to the beads, another larger magnet slides along the outside of the tube, dragging the combo through a series of chambers. One chamber washes contaminants from the beads; another contains a salt that binds to nickel, causing the biomarker to detach. Then researchers put the purified sample onto a cheap, rapid diagnostic chip. The chip detects the telltale protein, signaling a positive result for malaria. This tool relates to class because last year in Mrs. Hills clase we learned about the plague and this tool that was just invented could have helped them find out if somebody had this disease before they started having symptoms.

Over 2 million people in the united states pre ordered the iphone 5... Apple is now selling this product all over the world. As technology advances so does how easy our life goes

This connects back to the old days because now they have a new way to travel. Instead of walking everywhere now they have a train to take them place to place. The more technology goes the easier our lives get.

    1) The article that I read talked about how the iPhone 5 was newer and better than the previous model (iPhone 4s).it talker about how there were improvements that were made to Seri, so that she understands more words in different accents. It also talks about how apple has improved the quality of the phone. They have made the resolution better; it is now 1136 x 640 pixels. In the previous iPhone it was 960 x 640 pixels. The article also discusses the way the iPhone looks. It is the same width as the iPhone 4s, but this iPhone is a little taller, which personally I like. The iPhone 5 has loads of new technology.

    2) The article relates to the railroads. The railroads were new technology that helped many people throughout the nation. It helped expand businesses and expand the country. More people were moving to the west coast. Before railroads were made it would take 6 months to go across the country, with the new railroads it would take about 6 days. The railroads were a much safer way of crossing the country. In a wagon you would encounter bandits and bad weather, because it was such a long trip people would also die of sickness. Railroads hold off bad weather pretty well, can outrun bandits, and you are not going to get sick and die in 6 days. Railroads were new technology, just like the iPhone 5.

This article was about how the new iPhone5 can be connected to the police so that if your phone is stolen the police can locate it. This article is mostly about the iPhone5 in New York. New York has a lot of robberies every day and this new technology will not only help find stolen iPhones but help prevent them from being stolen. If everybody has their phones registered to the police, robbers will be more reluctant to try to steal them if they know everybody has it.
It connects to the making of the continental railroad. The railroad changed everybodys lives greatly, making travel time so much faster. The iphone5 tracking device will make everyone’s lives easier because people won’t have to pay for a new iPhone when theirs gets stolen and they won’t have to worry about trying to find it. The train was considered to make the world a lot smaller and the iphone5 tracking device will make the world seem even smaller because you won’t have to look everywhere for your phone you can just contact the police.

This article is about how the new iPhone just came out. The iPhone 5 was released all around the world today and millions have been going out to buy it. It is causing a craze around the world as people wait to get in line to buy the new phone. People have been craving the new iPhone since Apple released it on September 12th. This relates to the Transcontinental Railroad. Like the iPhone, the railroad changed technology forever. Once the new railroad was built people had a new and quicker way of reaching the opposite side of the country. The iPhone has done something very similar. The iPhone 5 allows us to contact people quicker, check important dates, use movie tickets, etc. This device is making everything easier for the world just like the Transcontinental Railroad did.

  21. I did my blog on the iPhone 5 because of the shipment date was never for sure released because the large demand for the iPhone 5. People were wishing the carriers and Apple would give shipping information and tracking numbers for their iPhone 5 pre orders. Many people were getting very upset because of this confusion. The carriers then said the phones would ship in 2-3 weeks, which made the general public very mad because of their assurance of their phones being at their front door on Friday the 21st in September.

I relate this to the slave’s equality and rights to the iPhone 5 because as slaves, they had no idea of when they would truly have equal rights and equality as people. They relate because no one knew when this information would be released and confirmed. Both scenarios have the same plot, as some information was given it was just denied and forgotten about until the day finally came

  23. In the times of the expansion of the USA it brings us to the advancements in technology. The US needed a big supply of steel in order to rise to the skies with sky scrapers. They needed a mass production. Many people brought about a new age of steel that was able to be mass produced and used at 80% less than what it was originally. All these things connect to the advancements in technology for the US. The iPhone 5 advances in to the new age and adds more of what the American wanted with the previous iPhone installation. More space better view smaller size as well as a faster A6 processor. So many advancements have been made since then and are continuing to add up. And we continue into a new age of the US with many more advancements in technology.

  25. 1) The iphone 5 was released on September 21st, 2012. The starting pirce was 199$ with a two year contract plan. The Iphone 5 is eighteen percent thinner and twenty percent lighter then the other iphones. The new iphone has a larger screen, faster wireless internet and has a more powerful chip in it. On September 24th, Apple sold five million Iphone 5's. Now a days technology keeps getting better and better.
    2) The iphone 5 relates to the invention of the railroads. Railroads became an important technology to Americans. Railroads increased the American population. It made transportation ten times easier and faster then it use to be. It also allowed stores to import and export goods to other countries in a fast way. The iphone 5 relates to the invention of railroads because, both products show a way of new technology that helped Americans in many ways.

  36. http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/04/microsoft-windows-8-app-updates/

This article is about windows 8. In this article, Nicole Lee describes windows 8 and that it will have an OS launch event. She informs that Bing will be first out of the gate on October 5th.

Windows 8 is very similar to the west because of the new invention of the train. Windows 8 is going to help many people just like the train did. The train really simplified people’s life. They didn’t have to risk their life’s trying to cross the west. All they had to do is get on the train. With windows 8, it will make so many things easier and quicker. We will be able to do so many things that we weren’t with the other programs. Windows 8 is a great upgrade just like the train was. People would have never thought of the train but here it is! It’s the same with windows 8, some people from the past would have thought it was impossible to video chat, email, send pictures through the air. Windows 8 will help this happen; we have made the impossible become the possible.

My article was on the success of Microsoft over the years. In the article it says that Microsoft must show traction in mobile over the long-run to stay relevant and grow its business. In the article it also says that the company must start to show that traction sooner or the stock will begin to act like a value trap. The future of the company’s success on Windows 8 is supposed to begin the march of Microsoft into more integration between the desktop and mobile devices. It is pointed out that the Microsoft tablet must be a success. This relates to all the inventions that were made and how it helped out a lot of businesses. For example the telephone made it easier to communicate with one another. It also allowed businesses to expand to more places. The article also mentions a lot about of business. Business was important then.

This article I read is about the new iPhone five. In the article about the iPhone five it said that they made it have a larger screen, have quicker internet speed and they put a new powerful chip in it. Also making it lighter and thinner. This newly invented iPhone five relates to when Alexander Gram Bell invented the first telephone in which you could communicate by voice. His invention relates because if he hadn’t of made the first telephone we wouldn’t have kept improving them throughout the years. Today we wouldn’t have wireless phones and fast sever. Also we would not only be able to talk to people wirelessly but we also wouldn’t be able to send worded messages. Alexander Grams Bells invention of the telephone was a huge invention which led us to have faster and more dependable devices today like the IPhone five that just came out.
